for example, ‘trying it on’ can mean ‘trying to lie’ 

also ‘jobby’ in Scotland means excrement. No, really.

also no one in England would say ‘hen’ (which in Glasgow refers to a woman) and very few people in Scotland would use it in a hooking up context because it’s a word for women used most often by kind old ladies on the bus.
